Position Summary :
The House Supervisor is responsible to manage all administrative and nursing activities, directly and indirectly related to patient care services to all patient populations throughout the Hospital. The supervisor is responsible for the management of department resources and staffing adjustments. Supervisors are scheduled to work weekdays 6 pm to 6 : 30 am and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays. Supervisor demonstrates an understanding of the functional and or development age of the individuals served.
The House Supervisor represents Administration and is responsible for performing all administrative functions which are delegated by the Chief Nursing Officer and CEO. During this time, assumes decision making in authorized and delegated responsibilities and follows the MCH chain of command for reporting. The incumbent must maintain a full understanding and support the Hospital Mission and Vision Statement and its Performance Improvement Programs as well as demonstrate behavior consistent with the Hospitals policies and procedures.
Qualifications :
Requires completion of Registered Nurse program, prefer BSN or MSN. Requires Minimum 5 years Medical Surgical, Critical Care or applicable experience in an acute care hospital setting, with demonstrated knowledge and clinical skills necessary to provide clinical and administrative support in the MCH areas of ICU, M / S, ER, Clinic and OR. Proven 2 - 3 years strong leadership and supervisory management skills in area of expertise with excellent judgment skills. Proven ability to make decisions using the scientific approach to problem solving.
Possess fundamental knowledge of the principles of administration and personnel management and has advance preparation in a clinical specialty area, nursing administration and / or teaching. Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills. Positive professional attitude and guest relations.
Requires Current State of California Board of Registered Nursing License, Current American Heart Association BCLS certificate, and Current American Heart Association ACLS and PALS certificate.
