SUMMARYThe role of Director of Outside Plant Engineering will be to provide oversight to the design, build, andconstruction of the company’s Outside Plant (OSP) fiber infrastructure. The Director will work collaboratively withour OSP and Installation team members to design, engineer, and inspect new, existing, and ongoing fieldprojects. This role will also be responsible for ensuring that all OSP quality requirements, maintenance, andtimelines are met during all projects.ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES· Establish engineering guidelines and processes to be managed and followed throughout OSP· Build and enhance a strong team that provides high-quality engineered projects· Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and consistency of engineered projects· Develop and monitor proper status tracking, reporting, and internal controls· Monitor broadband industry trends· Remain current on fiber/network construction best practices· Manage and coach employees· Coordinate with Customer Support and Sales· Determine construction methods (aerial, underground, conduit)· Prepare engineering drawings, permits, and as-builts· Oversee easements and ROW· Produce monthly status reports· Communicate with utilities and government entities· Assume additional responsibilities as necessaryQUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS· 7 years OSP engineering experience- Excellent communication skills· Ability to multitask and problem-solve· Proficient in Microsoft OfficePREFERRED SKILLS· 7 years telecom experience preferred· Works well under pressure· Dependable and flexibleADDITIONAL NOTES· Intrastate and regional travel required· Evening and weekend work may be requiredMainstream Fiber Networks reserves the right to modify, interpret, or apply this job description in any waythe organization desires.
