To carry on these long-standing company values, we’re looking for a Front Desk Receptionist located in Brooklyn, IA.

Summary

As the first point of contact, the Front Desk Receptionist’s main responsibilities are to greet guests, maintain a clean, professional reception area, manage incoming calls, and to process incoming/outgoing mail and packages. This is a full-time, seasonal position with a standard schedule of 40 hours per week. During peak periods, additional hours may be required; however, any overtime must be approved in advance by a supervisor.

  • Greet and welcome visitors
  • Notify staff of guest arrivals
  • Maintain a clean, professional reception area
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls
  • Take and relay messages
  • Screen calls (and in some cases, answer basic inquiries)
  • Manage voicemail systems
  • Schedule appointments or meetings
  • Receive, sort, and distribute mail and packages
  • Inventory and order office supplies as needed or requested
  • Help other departments with clerical tasks including data entry and job cost support
  • Encourage personal and professional development within the team

Education and Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior use of multi-line phone systems or VoIP
  • Office software (e-mail, calendars, spreadsheets)

Language Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and communicate effectively with staff and customers.

Mathematical Skills

  • Proficient in basic math operations.

Reasoning Ability

  • Able to follow written and oral instructions

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to sit, listen, use hands, and reach.
  • Occasionally required to walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to lift/move up to 20 lbs.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
