The success Manatt's, Inc., enjoys today in the construction industry started over 75 years ago. Back then, it was one man, one truck, and now our team of employees numbers more than 750 strong. We have dozens of ready-mix and asphalt production facilities around the state of Iowa. Our massive fleet of dump and ready-mix trucks serves thousands of job sites every year. In addition, our concrete and asphalt paving divisions, along with our various other crews, complete hundreds of projects every season.

We have an immediate opening in our Brooklyn, Iowa Office for an Information Systems Manager.

SUMMARY

The Information Systems Manager (ISM) helps develop, design, customize, and maintain a company’s computer applications and related systems. Duties include establishing and configuring enterprise software applications, providing training to IT staff and employees, offering support for users, and troubleshooting when issues arise. The ISM also performs updates and maintenance to existing applications, data, and computer systems when needed and assesses applications to ensure they provide the best solutions for business operations, suggesting changes or improvements as needed. The ISM will work with various business applications, including dispatch and ordering software, human resource information systems (HRIS), safety systems, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software. The Information Systems Manager advocates for the expanded use of enterprise applications across multiple business functions of the company to simplify application and data architecture, streamline the company’s software portfolio, and maximize the effectiveness of commercial software for company operations.                                                                                                                       

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES.

Serves as a positive representative of Manatt’s to promote safety and teamwork approach to getting the job done safer and better than anyone else.

Develops and implements high standards for professionalism and communication among direct reports, IT personnel, and staff.

Reviews requirements, evaluates, and recommends solutions for websites, web-based services, system integration, and data analysis and reporting.

Participates in software vendor selection processes including RFP creation and award, product evaluation, contract negotiation, and contract management.

Develops project plans and schedules and effectively manages multiple projects including application and database upgrades.

Reviews project progress reports from team members, customers, contractors, and vendors to ensure projects are being completed in a timely manner and investigates delays or cost over-runs.

Analyzes technology trends and advises CIO about enterprise system and data architecture, application security, and overall applications strategy including both cloud-hosted and on-premise solutions.

Implements Information Department change management policies and protocols.

Collaborates with business units and key IT stakeholders to plan, prioritize, and schedule applications development and enhancement requests, while providing direction and guidance to staff.

As necessary assists in application troubleshooting, testing, data analysis, and production of reports, project plans, training materials, etc.

Demonstrates discretion and support on sensitive business priorities, manage ambiguity and seek solutions.

Champions security policies and procedures throughout the portfolio.

Manages 3rd party vendors to support development and rollout efforts.

Researches and evaluates new technologies and trends to be used as enhancements or upgrades to existing applications.

Leads a team of analysts and developers in the understanding of business needs, solution design, development, implementation and support of our enterprise systems globally.

Acts as mentor for the team and for the business in implementing best practice solutions across our application suite.

Recommends and plans professional development training for team members and participates in training as may be appropriate.

Directly manages staff, including hiring, firing, assigning and prioritizing work, setting employee goals, reviewing team performance metrics, leading regular team meetings, and completing semi-annual performance reviews.

Education and/or Experience

  • BBA/BA/BS degree preferred
  • 2-4 years of IT Systems management experience; BI tools; on prem applications; cloud hosted applications.
  • 3 years of experience working in an ERP environment, SQL experience a plus
  • 5 years of experience in a management or supervisory role
  • 2 years of demonstrated experience in business process analysis, requirements gathering, solution design and development, vendor management, enterprise application support (MS O365 Applications, Sharepoint, Viewpoint ERP, BI tools), and a strong business understanding.                                              

Language Skills                                                        

Ability to read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.

Mathematical Skills                                                                

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to develop and interpret bar graphs.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Six Sigma (Green Belt) Preferred and Project Management Professional (PMP) a plus
