What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pediatric Therapy Services Clinical Assistant position at Mankato Clinic?
Full-Time, 80 hours/pay period
Monday-Friday between the hours of 8:00-5:00
This position is involved with the day-to-day operations ensuring coverage of the department. The Pediatric Therapy Services Clinical Assistant works closely with the Pediatric Physical, Occupational, and Speech Therapists, Manager, and Director. This position performs great customer service, works well in a fast-paced job, has good computer skills and is willing to learn electronic health records and payment systems. The Pediatric Therapy Services Clinical Assistant requires minimal supervision, assists with workflows in order to provide quality patient care, assumes responsibility for designated services and assists staff and Manager in administration and management of meeting goals and objectives that are set forth by the Mankato Clinic’s Board of Directors and Administration.
Key Job Duties:
- Assist therapists before, during, and after patient’s appointment(s) to ensure a seamless transition and the best care for the patient and therapists.
- Welcomes all patients and visitors. Communicates clearly and professionally to patients and staff.
- Registers patients by obtaining and verifying medical insurance and patient demographics for every appointment. Collects co-payments or other patient responsible balances, issues receipts, prepares deposits, and maintains cash drawer daily.
- Schedules and manage appointments following clinic scheduling procedures. Prepares patient information and clinical forms for upcoming appointments.
- Demonstrates general knowledge of all clerical and clinical procedures needed for the department.
- Monitor the reception and lobby area and assists in keeping patient care areas clean and neat.
Required:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Professional attitude and ability to maintain composure when confronted with fast-paced and stressful situations
- Customer service experience and dedication to patient satisfaction
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Attention to detail
- Works compatibly in a team-oriented environment
- Computer experience
- Current BLS (CPR) certification required or obtained within 90 days of start date
Preferred:
- Any college degree
- Two or more years of experience working as a Clinical Assistant, EMT, Nursing Assistant, or in direct patient care.
- A general knowledge of medical practice
- Dedication to patient satisfaction
- Ability to work effectively with all providers, staff and patients
Benefits & Compensation:
Base Pay Range: $16.90-$23.50, initial pay based on relevant work experience.
