Our Multimedia Production Assistantship/Internship is an unpaid, semester-long position designed to help aspiring professionals strengthen their technical, communication, and time management skills. This role provides hands-on production and audio/visual experience in a remote environment, with a primary focus on SEO-based video advertisements and support for multimedia projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while gaining valuable production and multimedia experience.
Responsibilities Include:
SEO-Based Video Advertisements:
- Utilize Canva to create and modify video ads, ensuring proper export and file organization.
- Research and incorporate monthly keywords into video bios and tags for YouTube optimization.
- Gain a foundational understanding of the adoption and surrogacy industry and related state-specific rules to align content with client needs.
- Participate in monthly Google AdWords team meetings to review trends, CPC metrics, and popular video performance.
Video Production Support:
Pre-Production:
- Collect completed permits and waivers from talent via email communication.
- Review and proofread scripts for grammar, clarity, and errors before moving to post-production.
- Contribute to creative planning through tools like Milanote, Pinterest, Canva, or Adobe Express to develop mood boards and project concepts.
Post-Production - Use Adobe Premiere Pro to:
- Render footage and export videos in High Quality 1080p HD (H.264) format.
- Apply basic color correction to video files.
- Review raw footage for issues such as audio problems, framing errors, or background distractions.
- Create short-form social media videos (under 5 minutes).
Graphic Design:
- Assist with basic graphic design tasks, including creating or modifying title cards and overlays using Adobe Express, Adobe Illustrator, or Canva.
- Design graphics and title blocks for use in professional video training series.
Organization and File Management:
- Maintain organized project files, categorizing them into appropriate folders and sub-categories.
- Assist with archiving and renaming footage, ensuring files are accurately labeled and duplicates removed.
- Create and manage project checklists or spreadsheets to track progress and ensure all tasks are completed.
Collaboration and Meetings:
- Attend weekly check-in meetings via Zoom to discuss progress, tasks, and creative input.
- Participate in staff or client meetings as needed to discuss project updates and ongoing responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- Applicants must have obtained a bachelor's degree or be actively enrolled in new media, film, communication, graphic design, or similar major at an accredited university where they have access to their computer labs (including programs like Adobe Creative Cloud).
- Familiarity in Adobe Premiere Pro and basic knowledge of tools like Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or Adobe Express, and a willingness to learn and expand on current skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Willingness to learn about SEO strategies and the adoption/surrogacy industry.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
