POSITION GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Project Estimator organizes estimating activities of the specific projects as they relate to estimating and preconstruction activities. Project Estimators are responsible for cultivating relationships with subcontractors, vendors and clients. Project Estimators are ultimately responsible for compiling the complete estimate for specific projects assigned under the supervision of the Director of Preconstruction.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Set-Up
- Drawings and Specifications Review
- Quantity takeoff for establishing labor & material costs
- Contact and communicate with vendors and subcontractors
- Preparation and analysis of Bid Breakdown
- Bid Submission and follow-up
- Project Award and Hand-Off
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge Required:
- Thorough knowledge of the construction industry with complete understanding of construction bidding documents including drawings and specifications.
- Thorough knowledge of labor productions associated with carpentry related activities.
Experience Required: At least three (3) years of estimating both competitive bid projects as well as conceptual budgeting for projects within the construction industry or lumber/material sales experience with a strong focus on rough framing, casework and commercial doors & hardware.
Skills/Abilities: Shows the ability to have strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills, including task and time management, business writing, scheduling, critical thinking, project scope and contract management.
Software Skills: Bluebeam, Excel, Onscreen Takeoff, Quick Bid, Sage Estimating
