POSITION GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Surveyor collects all available data, written and electronic, for specific projects to prepare for construction. The Surveyor should have the ability to operate a robotic total station, computer and related survey software, data collector and have an understanding of Trimble Systems for construction purposes.

POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Project Set-Up (Office Related Duties)
- Determine time estimates for a project.
- Prepare construction site locations for site layout using a set of construction documents CAD drawings and related software.
- Prepare calculation for project requirements.
- Prepare as-built drawings at complete of project.
- Search land titles, legal and survey records in order to obtain information about property boundaries within areas to be surveyed.
- Maintain equipment and repair records of all survey related equipment.
Field Set-Up
- Establish horizontal and vertical site control.
- Determine layout of site improvements, to include utilities, grading, curb, pavement, building locations, etc.
- Analyze survey objectives and specifications in order to prepare, or direct the preparation of, survey proposals.
- Determine volumes of stockpile material.
- Adjust surveying instruments in order to maintain their accuracy.
- Collect as-built data.
GPS
- Set control for GPS calibration.
- Prepare GPS model of site.
- Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations.
- Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
- Understand and operate rover software for field construction staking
- Train other crew members as needed
Miscellaneous
- Assist with additional projects, duties, and tasks as assigned.
- Drone operation and documentations
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge Required: Extensive knowledge in geographical information systems, probability and statistics and boundary laws.
Experience Required: Five (5) years of land surveying experience. Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus. Comfort level with Trimble GPS equipment, Trimble machine control, Trimble total station setup, etc.
Skills/Abilities: Shows the ability to have strong interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
