Description
Maryhurst provides treatment programs for severely traumatized children who most often are victims of sexual, physical, and/or emotional abuse. Children in our care turn to risk-taking behaviors to cope with their pain. These behaviors can include such actions as running away, truancy, suicidal gesturing, delinquency, and substance abuse. Their issues are further complicated by years of multiple placements in foster care and hospital settings. In fact, prior to their involvement with Maryhurst, any one of our children is likely to have experienced an average of 20 out-of-home placements. We work hard to provide consistency, structure, and love for children. It is because of this philosophy and the hard work of staff and volunteers that our programs are successful. Today Maryhurst provides nine different programs that address the unique needs of more than 600 children and their families.
Coordinates the treatment team for Renewal clients; serves as a liaison and representative for child, family, foster parents and outside agencies; coordinates services both within Renewal and in the community; monitors quality of services for clients on his/her caseload; provides crisis management and support. Implements and coordinates treatment or habilitation plans for individual clients in assigned population group, including evaluation, consultation, and education, and follow-up services. Provides personal case management through direct client contact, assessment, crisis assistance, client family contact, monitoring of client progress, etc. Identifies services available in the community that could potentially benefit clients, arranges for delivery of those services, and assists clients in gaining access to services.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a social service field and two years of clinical/community services case management experience, or with master's degree in social work. Completion of required case management certification course within six months of date of employment. Good interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills. Knowledge of applicable population group issues, treatments, and available services. Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards of licensure. Reliable transportation for frequent travel. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have an insurable driving record. Must be available for travel as needed.
