Overview
Vision Innovation Partners, one of the leading platforms for ophthalmology service providers, currently has an opening for a Practice Administrator. This cross-functional role develops, implements and oversees the operations of our Maryland Vision Institute brand based in Hagerstown, Maryland, with offices in Frederick and Hancock.
As the Practice Administrator, you'll report to the Regional Director of Operations and focus on operational effectiveness, stratgic planning, and the development of new services and business relationships. You'll provide operational leadership to ensure best practices are integrated across acquired ophthalmology practices. Strong communication skills and an exceptional business development mindset are critical, along with expereince running medical clinics, physican practices or hopstial divisions, in addition to P&L management.
This is an on-site position in Hagerstown, MD, with required travel to MVI locations and occassional travel to other clinic and office locations.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities:
- Achieves key performance indicators including revenue and expense targets, conversion rates, provider utilization, cancellation and no-show rates, optical sales, patient satisfaction and staff engagement and retention
- Assures productive, full schedules for each provider and strategically plans and successfully implements new business opportunities
- Communicates frequently with the Regional Director of Operations on status of all practice functions
- Practice analytics including financial and compliance
- Leads successful integration of multiple ophthalmology acquisitions and ensures business practices are assimilated into the platform operational channels
- Provides visible support and manages the operations of assigned regional practices to ensure they are positioned to meet or exceed company goals
- Collaborates with lead providers to educate them on company metrics, which support their business goals
- Provides leadership to clinical managers to resolve performance issues, provide positive feedback, and take appropriate corrective action when needed
- Partners with the lead providers and clinic managers to initiate and manage employee practices to empower and reward site teams for meeting goals and demonstrating behaviors consistent with the company’s mission, vision and values
- Partners with clinic managers to assess and maintain appropriate staffing level in assigned regional sites
- Partners with lead providers, Regional Director of Operations, and clinic managers to identify and execute corrective action to improve site performance.
- Responsible for establishing a high-performance team that is efficient, knowledgeable, service-oriented, and shares responsibility for attaining the goals of the practice.
- Manages all office audits, practice reviews and reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business or a related field, and five (5) or more years of experience managing in a large healthcare setting
- Master’s degree in health administration (MHA) or Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) is preferred
- Knowledge of general ophthalmology operations is strongly preferred
- Management experience including hiring, performance management, conflict resolution, coaching and training. An engaged management style is required with the ability to mentor, lead, and become part of a tenured team
- General understanding of computer systems (ModMed, NextGen, etc), especially in a healthcare setting
- Proficiency in MS Office and data analytics
