Responsible for answering the telephone, receptionist duties, registering patients, scheduling appointments with appropriate health care provider, entering demographic and financial data into patient record, maintaining record systems, collecting statistical information, and providing support to clinic or hospital staff. Provides departmental expertise regarding billing systems and regulations. Responsible for management of referrals and tracking visits for optimum utilization.
- Performs a wide variety of reception, clerical and administrative duties, including answering the telephone, registering patients, entering demographic and financial data into patient record, and maintaining records and systems.
- Manages daily appointment schedules, schedules appointments with appropriate health care provider.
- Completes and updates statistical reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis for clinic.
- Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients.
- Participates in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation and other professional activities. Maintains awareness of policies and procedures and performance standards.
- Uses computers and other basic office equipment to perform tasks.
- Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.
- Maintain and distribute “O” drive documents for department.
