Job Description

Position Summary: 

Supervise and mentor the maintenance team at night in support of production needs.  The role requires acute reactive and proactive planning to reduce unplanned downtime to zero.  This position will work together with the first shift Maintenance Supervisor and Planner to implement the department’s goals in support of the Kinston operation.

Shift Schedule:

4:00 pm to 2:30 am - Monday through Thursday ( required overtime as necessary/required daily as well as on Fridays/Weekends)

Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Follow and comply with all safety standards including Lock Out.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities
• Comply with the spirit of the rules and regulations for Environmental Compliance.
• Supervise and provide support for day-to-day activities of Maintenance Department personnel.
• Generate work orders, track progress and follow up as needed.
• Order and source parts as needed for the completion maintenance tasks.
• Work with production supervisors, production personnel and maintenance personnel to ensure the facility and equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
• Work with production supervisors, production personnel and maintenance personnel to drive continuous improvement and ensure a safe work environment.
• Administer the consistent and equitable application of company policies.
• Accept challenges and responsibilities as identified.
• Ensure repairs and maintenance to facilities and equipment are completed in a safe efficient manner.
• Ensure all work is performed and completed in conformance with any related codes, guidelines or standards established by a manufacturer or regulating body.
• Ensure follow up work is completed as needed to keep facility and equipment in good working order.
• Other duties as assigned.

Skill Requirements

• Ability to supervise, train, and provide direction to maintenance personnel.
• Prior experience of Multi Building site management with multi shift production.
• D7I or equivalent work order tracking system preferred
• Must have good troubleshooting skills
• Able to read electrical schematics and blue prints.
• Must be self-motivated, have good communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment with multiple shifts.  
• Must have basic computer skills. i.e.: Be able to work with D7i, Outlook, Microsoft    Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.
• AutoCAD Design software knowledge beneficial but not essential.
• PLC Programming/Troubleshooting knowledge beneficial.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED
• Associates or Bachelors Degree: Industrial Controls or Industrial Maintenance or Related Degree preferred
• Min: 5 Years Industrial Maintenance/Controls
• 7 Years Industrial Maintenance/Controls
