Mastercut Tool Corp. is seeking a full-time, entry level machine operator to join our team!
Responsibilities:
Responsible for machine set up according to the print and responsible for measurement of resulting tools to ensure accuracy of all parameters.
Examples of duties:
- Mechanical set up of CNC machines to produce high precision cutting tools, according to the training received
- Set up and produce a good first piece & run production on all standard tools
- Modify programmed tools from a print utilizing company software
- Run production and make simple off- sets
- Understanding of the tools’ grinding in both final product and plunge grinding operations
- Operation of CNC controls
- Mount and unmount grinding wheels safely
- Identify wheel wear on all wheel types
- Read and understand work instructions
- Read and understand manufacturers’ manuals
- Quality Control: Measure lengths and diameters, such as ID, OD.
- Perform basic tool inspection with high geometry understanding
- Maintain long run machines with any tools on all machines
- Take reliable notes and follow strict procedures and standards
- Maintain workflow within the department to efficiently meet production dates
Qualifications:
- Ability to effectively deal with other people
- Ability to listen effectively and communicate clearly
- Ability to access, read and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system following training
- Ability to operate a calculator and practice basic math and geometry skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, customers, and patrons.
- Ability to follow written and or verbal instructions in English.
- Ability to hear noise or conversation at normal levels.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to 4 hours and handle
- frequent bending, reaching and repetitive movements.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Practice safety-conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
- Ability to work proficiently and be very detail-oriented.
Working on machines requires the operator’s complete attention; all their senses must be in good condition and alert to detect any circumstance that could put them, the machine, or the quality of the material that is in process, at risk.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour
