Paralegal

Paralegal (9-Month Contract) – Charlotte or Raleigh Metro Area (Hybrid)

The contract paralegal will support discovery responses and assist with preparing supplemental and rebuttal filings for an ongoing regulatory matter. Candidates must have prior experience in the utility or regulated-industry sector and be familiar with state-level regulatory case processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, organize, and analyze materials from discovery databases to prepare responses, interrogatory support documents, and amendments to case filings.
• Assess, inventory, and maintain document matrices and data sets related to regulatory case preparation.
• Conduct fact investigations relevant to applicable regulations and case strategy.
• Prepare and organize documentation required for regulatory submissions and maintain associated files and repositories.
• Coordinate meetings with internal and external subject-matter experts.
• Serve as the primary administrator for document repositories, ensuring all materials and volumes are current and accurately cataloged.
• Perform data-driven analysis, including work similar to forensic accounting, to support case development.
  
  

Skills & Tools

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; advanced Excel skills will be tested prior to selection.
• Experience with SharePoint; familiarity with Power BI is preferred.
• Excellent organization, attention to detail, and coordination abilities.

• Some local travel may be required within the Charlotte and/or Raleigh area.

The pay for this W-2 position ranges from $32.77-$33.90 per hour. This position may be eligible for PTO, health and dental insurance, and/or 401(k) benefits upon meeting certain length of service and hours requirements.
