Description
The Sr. EHR Support Analyst is responsible for all the duties of a Clinical Applications Specialist and in addition, actively mentors CA Specialists. Provides training to all staff, including but not limited to, Physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, Psychiatrists, LCSWs, and Nursing staff, in the use of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) software and processes to effectively document the encounter with patients at MCHC. The Clinical Applications Specialist will utilize medical terminology and experience to effectively communicate the functions of the EHR program. Provides training to clinical personnel.
Duties Include:
- Assists the Clinical Applications (CA) Manager with the hiring, onboarding, and ongoing mentorship for new CA Specialists.
- Assists the CA Manager in achieving training, intercommunication, and documentation standards.
- Collaborates with other training personnel in planning, documenting, and training of all staff on the EHR.
- Provides vital communications between the providers and the (CA) team regarding system issues, training needs and work-flow changes.
- Completes evaluations of newly hired clinical professionals’ proficiency.
- Ensures that all current EHR workflows are documented in a standard and easy to read format.
- Works to continuously refine and improve processes in training and EHR workflows.
- Provides high quality training to all staff members being trained in the use of EHR applications and documents the training utilizing the most current MCHC training tracking mechanism.
- Participates in all team meetings and additional project meetings, upon request and in a constructive way which promotes positive departmental rapport and leads towards the achievement of team goals.
- Works with the CA team to track and quickly resolve internal customer issues with the EHR application.
- Collaborates with Clinic Managers and Human Resources personnel in the coordination of training for newly hired clinical professionals.
- Provides appropriate Student training (such as Nurse Practitioner students), including workflows, and what the Student can and can not do within the system; as well as ensuring the MCHC Preceptor is aware of the Student’s access and appropriate use of the EHR.
- Takes the initiative to keep up to date on regulatory EHR requirements, to ensure application and workflows are consistent with documentation and reporting needs.
- Completes special assignments as directed.
- Travels to other MCHC sites as needed and off site for training.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree, with a minimum of three (3) years’ working experience with an Electronic Health Record.
PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of a medical assistant program and a minimum of two (2) years’ experience as an MA, utilizing an EHR daily.
- Completion of a Medical Terminology course
- Previous utilization of the same EHR system, as MCHC
- Experience training other professionals
- One-year experience working within MCHC, gaining knowledge in clinical department workflows
