Non-certified technician who provides respiratory care to patients.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Administers and records oxygen and oxygen aerosol therapy according to the prescription of the physician and departmental procedure.Written documentation should be available and reflects effective performance.
- Administers and records small volume nebulizer (SVN) and metered dose inhaler (MDI) breathing treatments according to the prescription of the physician and departmental procedure.Written documentation should be available and reflects effective performance.
- Administers and records intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB) treatments and ultrasonic nebulizer (USN) treatments according to the prescription of the physician and departmental procedure.Written documentation should be available and reflects effective performance.
- Administers postural drainage and percussion (P&PD) of the chest for pulmonary hygiene according to the prescription of the physician and departmental procedure.Written documentation should be available and reflects effective performance.
- Initiates, operates and monitors continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) devices and bi-level positive airway pressure (BiPAP) devices according to the prescription of the physician and departmental procedure.Written documentation should be available and reflects effective performance.
