The MDS Land Project team is seeking a seasoned Construction Manager / Client Representative to oversee our project at the Tides Inn in Irvington, VA. This role will involve managing contractors and subcontractors to ensure schedules are achieved, and high-quality work is delivered to the client. Communication skills are essential, as you will work closely with a variety of professionals, including construction workers, architects, engineers, and designers, and function as the liaison to the property. Prior experience with luxury hotel projects, remodel projects, and higher end residential construction is highly desirable.

MDS Land Project specializes in project development and client representation for residential, hospitality, and infrastructure projects. As the project owner’s direct consultant, we provide support from pre-construction projects and team planning through project execution. By managing the design and construction teams, we drive schedules, control costs, and facilitate the flow of information to deliver projects according to owner expectations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with MSD Land Project’s Project Manager to define project goals and ensure project is executed to meet the needs and expectations of the client.
· Collaborate with the client, engineers, designers, contractors, subcontractors and other project constituents to successfully execute projects
· Serve as the primary on-site construction representative giving attention to:
Setting performance goals and deadlines
Planning construction scope and sequence
Supervising staff and providing constructive feedback
Monitoring and reporting on project progress
Ensuring adherence to project plans, specifications, and quality standards
Planning inspections and obtaining construction permits from local authorities
Implementing safety and quality guidelines
Ordering the appropriate equipment and arranging for regular maintenance
Keeping track of material stock and orders
Ensuring the job site remains safe, clean, and orderly
Resolving on-site issues and emergencies
· Collaborating with the Project Manager to update project budgets and schedules
· Assist with review of contractor pay applications and change orders
REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
· At least 5 years of progressive experience as a construction superintendent or construction field representative managing projects valued at over $5M for both renovation and new construction
· Knowledge of local quality, safety, and health guidelines for construction job sites
· In-depth understanding of construction operations and processes
· Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, & Outlook
· Organizational and time-management skills
· Excellent oral and written communication skills
· Ability to lead and inspire
