What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histo Tech Non-Reg position at Medical Center Hospital?
I. Position Summary:
The Non - Licensed Histology Tech is able to perform all of the repetitive tests in the anatomic pathology laboratory, analyze technical problems and make simple corrections using preset strategies. The tech will use and monitor quality control procedures using predetermined parameters. The tech will assist the pathologist in making various examinations on submitted tissue specimens and subsequent preparations.
Qualifications:
A. Education:
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of Histology Training.
Unusual Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
A. Requires ability to lift and move boxes of supplies weighing up to 30 pounds.
B. Job requires extended periods of standing, walking, and use of stairway.
C. Job involves exposure to bio-hazardous materials, chemicals, and potential infectious diseases.
Location: Medical Center Health System · Lab Histology
Schedule: Full Time, Day Shift, 40 hrs per week
