THE POSITION
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Sr. Manager of Facilities leads a dynamic team whose purpose is to create and sustain the best physical environments for all team members to work and serve the standards of care to our patients. Responsible for planning, implementing, and administering a comprehensive system to support facilities planning, design, construction, maintenance, operations, life safety, and emergency preparedness. Charged with the optimization of a growing real estate portfolio consisting of medical clinics, laboratories, pharmacies, community centers, and administrative offices.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (This list may not include all the duties assigned.)
- Plans, organizes, supervises, coordinates, and controls the activities of the building operations and maintenance functions which are necessary in maintaining the physical structures, H.V.A.C., mechanical, electrical systems, utilities, and grounds in a safe and optimized condition.
- Directs and works with facilities team members and contractors to complete work pertaining to facilities design and construction, operations and maintenance, life safety, and workplace services.
- Organizes and oversee a preventive maintenance program by preparing schedules, and budgets and directing implementation.
- Monitors work performance of building maintenance and contracted trades staff, inspect, and certify work, and perform acceptance testing prior to authorizing payment for services rendered.
- Facilitates and participates in discussions and planning for new construction and major renovations. Oversees and participates in data gathering, coordinates architecture and construction management proposals, bids, and projects, and develops management information and control processes to evaluate work-in-progress.
- Plans and evaluates the performance of the facilities team. Establishes performance requirements and personal development targets. Organizes prioritizes and assigns work and projects to team members within Facilities. Monitors performance and provides coaching for performance improvement and development.
- Establishes departmental policies and operating procedures that ensure capital projects, maintenance activities, and workplace services are planned and implemented effectively.
- Participates with executives in developing short and long-range facilities plans. Develops proposals for space and site planning, optimizing use of existing resources.
- Participates in the development and implementation of disaster preparedness program and emergency management back-up for implementation by team and contractors to ensure uninterrupted service.
- Develops and maintains capital, maintenance, and services budgets for the department. Forecasts funds needed for staffing, equipment, materials, and supplies. Directs and monitors approval of expenditures.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in facilities planning and management or related fields.
- Experience leading capital projects with focus on design and construction.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.

- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test as well as background check to include a 7-year criminal, 10-year SSN & employer history reference check.

- Must take yearly flu shot and test for tuberculosis as required by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Must be able to read, write and speak the English language fluently. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in person.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as dollar totals, monetary conversions, discounts, interest, fractions, decimals, percentages, area, and volume.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve technical and practical problems and deal with a variety of intangibles in situations where only limited communication, support, information, and access exist. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Must have good computer skills and be proficient in the use of systems to complete correspondence, documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, such as Microsoft Outlook and Office; Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
