What You’ll Do
As a GIS Conversion Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in building custom, high-performance GIS databases using Esri’s ArcGIS technologies. You'll manage and transform complex spatial data, ensuring seamless data migration and system integration for our utility clients. From designing schemas to troubleshooting data anomalies, your work directly supports the integrity and performance of electrical network models across the country.

What You’ll Do
As a GIS Conversion Specialist, you’ll play a critical role in building custom, high-performance GIS databases using Esri’s ArcGIS technologies. You'll manage and transform complex spatial data, ensuring seamless data migration and system integration for our utility clients. From designing schemas to troubleshooting data anomalies, your work directly supports the integrity and performance of electrical network models across the country.
You’ll Be
- Migrating, modeling, and managing enterprise-level GIS databases.
- Designing smart workflows that power Electric operations and utility systems like Outage Management, Staking, and Engineering Analysis.
- Collaborating directly with customers to understand data models and tailor conversion strategies.
- Leveraging tools like Python scripting and ArcGIS geoprocessing to ensure accurate, scalable migrations.
- Creating maps, visualizations, and data that light the way for future-facing utility infrastructure.
- 6 years of relevant GIS experience, preferably in utility or energy sectors.
- Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, IT, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Deep knowledge of ArcGIS, Python, and electric utility data models.
- Strong experience with data conversion, integrity checks, and spatial database design.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Passion for solving complex problems and a drive to innovate using the latest GIS tools and technologies.
- Milsoft systems integration (OMS, Staking, etc.)
- Utility Network rules and trace creation.
- Developing automated migration scripts and validation tools.
- Representing GIS solutions at conferences or client demos.

- Paid Time Off: Eligible to begin accrual from date of hire; accrual amount based on years of service. Beginning accrual rate equivalent to 22 days per year. 10 holidays which include the day after Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. Up to 240 hours of PTO can roll over to the following year.
- Volunteer Time: 8 hours per year
- Retirement: Robust 401K. Following one year of eligible service, the Company contributes in two ways: (1) match of 100% of each dollar you contribute on the first five percent (5%) of eligible compensation, and (2) Employer basic contribution of 4% of base salary (with increases in basic contribution percentage based on years of service). Employees are 100% vested in Company funded contributions from the date they enter the plan.
