What are the responsibilities and job description for the Full Year Substitute position at Merrillville Community School Corporation?
CONDITIONS:
- $16.75 Per Hour, 7.5 hours per day
- 180 Work Days, days students are in session
- Grade K-4: 7:40 a.m. - 3:10 p.m. (7.5 hours)
- Grade 5-6: 8:30a.m.-4:00p.m. (7.5 hours)
- Grade 7-12: 7:15a.m.-2:45p.m. (7.5 hours)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Substitute Teaching Permit/Indiana Teaching License
- High School Diploma or equivalent considered
- College degree preferred
- Successful Safe Hiring Solutions Extensive Background Check
- Completion of Substitute Teacher Packet along with mandatory Internet Based Training
- Successful experience working with school-aged children
- Completed online application and successful interview with Principal
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow the regular teachers' lesson plans and maintain discipline in the classroom at a level in which learning can take place
- Expectation is that these two responsibilities will be carried out in a climate of respect and caring for the students
- A substitute may cover several different content areas during a day, so the candidate must be flexible and able to adapt to various environments.
