- Monitor and visit with students regarding all attendance concerns. Develop attendance contract as needed to assist in the prevention of truancy. Maintain daily student, staff and parent contact logs and provide proper documentation as to next steps.
- Communicate with progress monitors, counselors and administration to advocate regarding student's needs and progress on attendance improvement.
- Maintains data on-line and on SharePoint site.
- Make home visits to meet with parents and encourage student attendance while providing community resources as needed. Maintain active knowledge of community resources available to parents and students and make referrals as needed.
- Track student attendance and grades on-line and discuss with student.
- Advocate for students regarding school and non- school related needs.
- Meet with attendance secretary regarding students with attendance concerns at the beginning of every week.
- Other duties as directed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- A minimum of two years of experience working with children/youth
- Criminal background check required for hire
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License or Identification required.
- Well-developed oral communication and phone etiquette skills in English;
- Well-developed customer service, public relations, and interpersonal relationship building skills;
- Strong ability to use de-escalation techniques and to defuse stressful and possibly volatile situations;
- Strong professional written-communication and group presentation skills;
- Strong working knowledge of laws and statutes as outlined in the:
- Strong ability to apply basic math skills and calculations with a high-degree of accuracy;
- Ability to apply and explain the application of Human Resources’ policies regarding employment including benefits;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job, especially as related to personal issues;
- Ability to work independently as needed with minimal direction and/or supervision;
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and frequent interruptions in a timely manner;
- Ability to be adaptable and flexible with critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities;

SUMMARY: Assists students with attendance concerns by advocating for students, establishing and maintaining communication with families and school staff regarding attendance expectations, developing attendance contracts, making referrals to community resources, maintaining student, family contact logs, monitoring student attendance and grades and mentoring students regarding attendance.
