What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician position at MGC ADVANCED POLYMERS INC?
Responsibilities includes the repair, preventative maintenance, upgrade, and test of all the electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Duties:
- Provide support to the production team to ensure smooth operations.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment problems.
- Ensure assigned maintenance and repair work is completed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Complete accurate repair reports in the CMMS software.
- Help maintain the inventory of spare parts using the CMMS software
- Keep maintenance Supervisor informed of any issues or potential problems with equipment or systems
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of chemical plant systems such as steam, compressed air, cooling water, pipes, valves, pumps, gauges, and motors.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to complete assigned preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance tasks in a timely manner.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and PLC ladder logic.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Availability to work a 24/7 rotating shift schedule
Education and Experience:
- 3 years electro-mechanical maintenance experience in a high-volume manufacturing/industrial environment or an associate degree in engineering.
- Experience with Programable Logic Controllers (PLC) and/ or Distributive Control Systems (DCS) preferred.
- Experience with 3-phase 480/208 VAC, single-phase 208/120 VAC, and 24 VDC systems.
- Instrumentation and calibration experience desired.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able climb stairs and ladders to access production equipment.
- Must be physically able to perform repairs when needed.
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
