Job Description: Gerber Operator
Department: Cutting
Job Summary: The Gerber Operator is responsible for operating our automated cutting system and producing covers for upholstered furniture. Also, responsible for maintaining a clean and organized area.
Essential Functions:
· Ability to read and interpret production tickets.
· Ability to determine cutting procedures for different types of fabrics.
· Ability to measure repeats of fabric and determine cutting direction.
· Ability to accurately label cut pieces and bundle.

· Time management skills
Required Education and Experience:
· High School Diploma or Equivalent
· Minimum of three years of experience in related field
Work Environment: While performing this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne dust particles, moving mechanical cutting parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud, safety glasses and hearing protection is provided.
Physical Demands: The position requires standing, walking, bending, stooping, frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 60 pounds or heavier.
The company provides safety glasses, hearing protection, masks, and low back support belts. It is mandatory that safety devices be worn during working hours.
Productivity Requirements: Minimum of 4 accurately cut pieces per hour.
Other Duties: This job may require other duties and responsibilities assigned by management.
