Job Summary
The burn team within the Division of Acute Care Surgery is seeking a Research Assistant with health services research interest and experience.
Responsibilities*
The Research Assistant will assist the project and study team in:

Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.

The Research Assistant will assist the project and study team in:
- Working with the Principal Investigator on study design and data interpretation.
- Collaboration with the team analyst on data analysis and learning use of statistical programs.
- Performing literature reviews.
- Assisting in preparation of manuscript drafts for peer-reviewed journals and submission of manuscripts.
- Other project tasks as assigned by the burn team.
- Graduation from a college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior health-related or research experience with demonstrated interest in health services research
- Experience with MS Office Suite
- Familiarity with EndNote or similar reference management software
- Good verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated proactive behavior and solution oriented; high attention to detail
- Organized, effective, and timely communication with the study team and others via email and phone
- Ability and commitment to work in a multi-disciplinary team environment
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent (MBBS, DO), or Master's degree (background in health sciences/MPH preferred)
