2. Coordinate and manage the schedule for the annual external audit of the University and the Foundation.
3. Perform month-end and fiscal year-end closing activities, including the preparation of work papers for the annual external audit.
4. Prepare monthly reconciliations.
5. Perform variance analysis. Research and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
6. Coordinate the development and updating of financial and administrative operating policies, and internal controls.
7. Perform monthly cash flow forecasting.
8. Provide critical support in the preparation of other reports such as bond agency reporting, financial surveys, accreditation and other compliance filings.
9. Prepare regular and special reports and analysis for administrators as requested.
10. Supervise support staff.
11. Participate on University committees.
12. Other duties as assigned.
13. Seek new ways to improve efficiency and commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them to every-day work. Actively engage in University continuous improvement initiatives.
14. Apply safety- related knowledge, skills and practices to everyday work.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive, relevant work experience in accounting and/or finance operations that can be demonstrated to be applicable to the duties and responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience in preparation of external audit work papers and financial statements.
- Proven ability to extract and analyze complex data and develop financial reports for financial analysis, forecasting, trending, and results analysis.
- Excellent computer skills including: experience using spreadsheets; experience using computerized accounting systems; proficiency with using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Power Point
- Professional experienced in Higher Education or similar Non-Profit.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, customer service, written/oral communication, and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated excellent decision-making capabilities, critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, be self-motivated and take initiative to solve problems.
