What are the responsibilities and job description for the Universal Banker 1 position at MidCountry Bank?
JOB SUMMARY
The primary responsibility of the Universal Banker (UB) 1 position is to perform all teller related duties, open new accounts, and facilitate consumer loans and other bank service referrals within the branch.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform all Teller functions
- Process transactions as needed, including but not limited to cashing checks, processing cash advances, issuing cashier’s checks, and receiving deposits and loan payments
- Maintain and balance a cash drawer, branch vault and ATM
- Follow dual control policies and procedures which may include processing the night drop and audits
2. Solicit business and sales responsibilities
- Identify customer needs and promote appropriate products and services
- Cross sell bank and non-bank products and services referrals through in-person sales and outbound calls; increase household penetration within current customer base
3. Provide quality customer service by providing timely and accurate response to customer inquiries
- Answer customer calls and perform any other services to address the customer’s needs
- Ability to order customer products, such as checks and debit cards
- Service customers and accounts as needed
4. Maintain current knowledge of bank products, services and environment
- Attend seminars and bank meetings as required
- Complete online compliance training and in person training
- Educate self where opportunities arise
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education-
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience-
- Required: Cash handling, customer service and/or sales experience required
- Preferred: Banking and financial services experience
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
- Ability to understand and follow instructions
- Ability to complete assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- Strong mathematical skills
- Strong customer service skills
- Knowledge of proper cash handling procedures preferred
