Job Description:
The Medical Technologist (ASCP)- Generalist is responsible for performing complex analytical procedures within the laboratory using practical and theoretical knowledge of clinical procedures and instrumentation. This includes generalist duties in hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, blood bank, and limited rapid microbiology.
Responsibilities:
- Perform various laboratory tests and procedures, including hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, and blood banking
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including instrumentation and automation systems
- Analyze and interpret test results, identifying abnormalities and reporting to physicians as needed
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate and reliable test results
- Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree with MT/MLS (ASCP) Generalist certification or Associate's Degree with MLT (ASCP) Generalist certification
- Epic Beaker experience
- WellSky Blood Bank experience
- Familiarity with current instrumentation
