Job Summary
The carpet technician will operate vacuum and commercial carpet shampooing / extractor equipment, mix chemicals as required for shampooing carpets, and properly clean equipment following use.
Duties and Responsibilities
The following is a general list of key job duties and responsibilities in your position. The list is not to be considered inclusive and you will be required to perform other duties / responsibilities as assigned by an authorized supervisor.
- Comply with the Facility’s personnel, safety, and guidelines and procedures as related to a Vendor.
- Report witnessed or reported allegations of resident abuse / neglect immediately to the Administrator, Director of Nursing or Unit Manager.
- Treat visitors and team members with respect and dignity.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident and family information.
- Report to work on time and as scheduled.
- Responsible for vacuuming carpets / furniture, to remove loose dirt prior to cleaning.
- Responsible for spraying carpet / furniture with cleaning solutions.
- Responsible for identifying persistent stains and using proper stain removal techniques.
- Responsible for removing water and chemicals from flooring / furniture and equipment on job completion.
- Responsible for lifting and removing furniture or other obstacles in cleaning area.
- Responsible for properly placing all wet floor and safety equipment in cleaning area.
- Responsible for cleaning carpet with chemical solutions on customer premises, determining washing method according to condition of material.
- Responsible for assisting in maintenance and up keep of equipment and vehicle.
- Responsible for all other tasks and duties assigned.

- Regular worksite attendance.
- Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and achievement-oriented.
- Skilled tradesman experience.
- Must have good communication skills with supervisors, employees, and customers.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- If required to operate a motor vehicle for business purposes, must successfully complete the requirements contained in Company’s Motor Vehicles policy.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Must be able to work beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary.
- Must be able to assist in the evacuation of residents / building during emergency situations.
- Must be able to perform the essential position functions of the job with, or without reasonable accommodation.
