Description of the Houseparents Role
Milton Hershey School is a world-class private school that provides an exceptional career-focused education to students in pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds. The school is fully endowed, ensuring that both students and staff have access to everything they need to thrive.
As a houseparent, you will reside on-campus with your spouse and provide a consistent family-like structure for a group of approximately 8-12 students. You will handle various responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting. Initially, you will cover different student homes before being assigned to one specific home.

Qualifications:
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Couples must be married for at least two years and both spouses should be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus, with no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Limitations on pets, only fish and one dog of approved breeds are permitted
- Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity and be comfortable leading students in daily devotions and taking them to Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services
- High school diploma or GED required, with both spouses needing to complete individual employment applications
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Salary : $43,825 - $165,000
