Milton Hershey School is a world-renowned private school that provides exceptional education, housing, meals, and more to students in pre-K through 12th grade from disadvantaged backgrounds - all at no cost to the students.
Our school was founded in 1909 by Milton and Catherine Hershey, who endowed the school with the resources needed to ensure both students and staff thrive. We are now hiring married couples to become flex houseparents, providing a consistent family-like structure for our students and handling responsibilities such as driving, administering medication, budgeting, and reporting.
About Our Flex Houseparent Role
- Live on-campus in student homes with approximately 8-12 students
- Guide and nurture students, providing a supportive and stable environment
- Drive students to activities, administer medication, manage budgets, and report on student progress
- Assist students with daily routines, including mealtime and bedtime
- Participate in Judeo-Christian Sunday chapel services and lead daily devotions
- Work a schedule of nine days on, followed by three days off, with personal time while students are at school

Qualifications
- Experience working or volunteering with youth, preferably from under-served settings
- Legally married couple with at least two years of marriage
- Both spouses must be age 27 or older
- No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home
- Abide by a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol permitted while on duty
- Valid U.S. driver's license; ability to become certified to drive student home vans
- Candidates must demonstrate a high degree of integrity as all staff are role models for students
