What are the responsibilities and job description for the PSR Specialist position at Mineral Area CPRC?
Qualifications: PSR staff shall be a mental health professional or an individual with a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, psychology, nursing, or a human services field which includes, education, criminal justice, recreational therapy, human development and family studies, counseling, child development, gerontology, and rehabilitation counseling.
Job Duties: Key service functions include, but are not limited to, the following services which must be available within the community psychiatric rehabilitation program as indicated by individual client need:
· Development of individualized program goals and objectives for Clubhouse
· The provision of rehabilitative services which may occur during the day, evenings, weekends, or a combination of these. Services should be structured, but are not limited to a program site;
· Services that enhance independent living skills;
· Services that address basic self-care needs;
· Services that enhance the use of personal support systems;
· Transportation to and from community facilities and resources as a part of program strategies;
· PSR staff will maintain a log of mileage, fuel usage and maintenance of the company vehicles utilized by the PSR clubhouse;
· Services shall be provided according to individual need toward goals of community inclusion, integration, and independence;
· Provide assistance, oversight and documentation of the client rights committee as held in accordance with the client rights committee policy and procedure for this agency.
· PSR staff will perform monthly fire drill, quarterly emergency preparedness drills and document the outcome of said drills in red drill binder.
· PSR staff will be familiar with all health, safety and food regulations and will ensure that those regulations are adhered to in the daily operations of the clubhouse and provide necessary documentation required.
· PSR staff will obtain and Level 1 Medication Aide (L1MA) Certificate and will be responsible for assisting clients in taking any prescribed medications that are required during clubhouse hours. PSR staff will also be required to implement and follow all procedures required for the certification of a L1MA.
· PSR staff will be able to provide emergency medical response, in accordance with the regulation of the American Red Cross CPR First Aide and the Emergency Preparedness policies and procedures of this agency, in the event of a medical emergency and or natural disaster. PSR staff will be required to maintain a current CPR First Aide Certification.
· PSR staff will document all incidents/injury and report outcomes of incident or injury.
· PSR staff will also provide Crisis Intervention and Resolution, on an unscheduled basis to the client, while in attendance in PSR program, designed to resolve crisis, provide support and assistance, and to promote a return to routine adaptive functioning.
