The City of Andover (pop. 30,481) has an immediate employment opportunity for a 6-month Temporary Building Intern (M-F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm). This position performs comprehensive building, and housing inspections, on residential, commercial, and industrial properties to ensure compliance with existing City and State codes and policies governing new construction and existing structures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Graduation from a standard senior high school or GED equivalent, supplemented by two (2) years of post-secondary college or technical instruction in building technology, construction management, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, or building construction.
2. Any equivalent combination of education and experience on a year-for-year basis.
3. Currently pursuing (or have obtained) a certificate in Building Inspection Technology.
3. Two years of Microsoft Office experience including Word and Excel.
4. Valid driver’s license.
