What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fund Controller position at Mission Staffing?
We’re partnering with a rapidly growing, sophisticated investment platform to hire a Fund Controller to oversee the accounting and financial operations of a multi-entity funding structure. This is a unique opportunity to help transform and scale a key business segment by leading all accounting, reporting, and control functions—while working directly with the CFO, auditors, and external service providers.
You’ll also play a critical leadership role in executing a long-term finance transformation project, transitioning from a third-party accounting platform to an in-house ERP system. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all accounting and reporting for a global funding platform spanning SPVs and international branches
- Manage month-end close, NAV calculations, investor allocations, and cash flow reporting
- Coordinate financial statement audits and work directly with Big 4 auditors and service providers
- Review and strengthen internal controls, policies, and documentation to ensure audit readiness
- Oversee the strategic transition of accounting workflows from one ERP system to another
- Monitor fund performance and provide detailed financial analysis to senior leadership
- Manage and mentor junior finance staff and back-office support
- Oversee investor reporting, including capital statements and IRR calculations
- Partner with tax, legal, operations, and investment teams on regulatory and compliance matters
Reports to the CFO
In Office: 2x a Week in NYC
Compensation Range: $180K - $200K (base salary) & $200K - $240K (total compensation)
Requirements:
7-10 Years of Experience in Public Accounting AND Fund Accounting (Any Fund Type)
CPA is Required
Experience with Investor Reporting and/or Factoring is a Plus
