As a Lifeguard at our YMCA, you will have the opportunity to assure swimmer safety and create a positive aquatics atmosphere for pool users.

In this role, you can look forward to:
- Ensuring safety in and around the pool area
- Responding appropriately to emergencies
- Maintaining a clean, safe pool area
- Communicating appropriately with parents, participants and members
Part Time Shifts Available:
- Monday-Friday, 5:00 am-7:00 am or 5:00 am-8:00 am
- Monday-Friday, 5:00 pm-9:00 pm
- Saturday, Noon-3:00 pm, 3:00-6:00 pm
- Sunday, 9:00 am-Noon, 3:00 pm-6:00 pm
Earn $2 more per hour Monday-Friday between 5 am-8 am and $1 more per hour for shifts on Saturdays & Sundays!

Qualifications
We are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. Must hold a current Red Cross Lifeguard Certification or have the ability to obtain certification. The YMCA offers FREE Lifeguard Certification Classes to those who commit to working at the YMCA upon completion of certification. Must demonstrate the ability to maintain certification-level of physical and mental readiness and demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with YMCA standards. These positions are open to candidates ages 15 and older.

The First International Bank & Trust Family Splash Center at the YMCA opened in April 2019. The warm water, renovated pool will offer water slides and play features, swim lessons, fitness classes and lap swim, therapeutic jets for hydro therapy, and Birthday Party program & space.
