Job Description
We are looking for a responsible Expeditor (Patient Flow Coordinator) to ensure the efficient movement of our patients in a timely manner around and between our 5 floors of operations. This energetic person will support the Operations Department with daily expediting of patients to the appropriate doctor, exam room and testing room while contributing to the high-standard customer-patient satisfaction experience we are proud to have in the community.
Duties & Responsibilities: Report to Operations Manager
- Handle patients’ charts and take them with a friendly smile and escort them to the appropriate room or doctor’s office.
- Monitor the floor and ensure patients are comfortable.
- Make sure all forms and documentation are completed with accuracy.
- Reach out to patients if necessary to ensure their turn is coming soon.
- Keep an eye on the waiting room and reach out to doctors, testers or technicians if necessary and remind them that their patients are waiting, especially if it is more than 15 minutes.
- Escort patients out to check out office and ensure they are well and going to be taken care of.
- Move patients to MDI drop box accordingly.
- Ensure patients are satisfied with the overall service and have no other questions or concerns before they leave the premises.
- Help customers find solutions to their questions or problems.
- Answer and dial phone calls to patients as needed and redirect calls or concern to appropriate team members.
- Inform visitors of safety rules and practice as they are ready to leave.
- Collaborate with other members of the department to ensure a smooth daily operation of the practice.
- Perform all other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years of experience, preferably in healthcare practice.
- Associate degree with at least 1 year of experience in the healthcare industry.
- Proven experience in customer service or administrative role, preferably in healthcare setting.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems and Microsoft office.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling sensitive patient information.
