What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tanker Driver position at Mizkan America Inc?
SUMMARY: The Tanker Driver will make pick ups and deliveries using the company’s vehicle, load and unload product and/or waste, complete necessary documentation, and foster positive relationships with vendors through exceptional service and timely completion of duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Perform duties to deliver product or waste water to designated locations.
- Read and interpret maps to locate designated areas.
- Load and unload vehicle as required.
- Sign off with vendors for items received or released; complete and maintain all documentation required for required recordkeeping.
- Maintain oil and fluid levels for assigned vehicles and arrange for required vehicle servicing as scheduled.
- Wash and maintain cleanliness of assigned vehicle.
- Exercise some judgment to determine appropriate routes.
- Comply with instructions and prescribed routines, methods and/or procedures involving the making of minor decisions.
- Continuous mental and visual attention required to drive truck, involving repetitive or diversified work requiring constant alertness or activity.
- Safety of others depends entirely on the correct action of the employee.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be able to read, write, add, and subtract whole numbers and follow instructions where interpretation is not required.
- Over 1 year, and up to 2 years driving/delivery experience.
- Working knowledge of handling and use of hoses required for loading and unloading.
- Working knowledge of tanker truck and hand tools.
- Produce results with minimal supervision
- Strong analytic and decision-making skills
- Strong focus on quality of work and customer focus
