Position Highlights:
- Performs screening and interpretation of all cytopathology samples including fine needle aspirations, exfoliative non-gynecologic samples and gynecologic samples.
- Provides assistance to the physicians during the performance of fine needle aspirations making direct smear preparations and performing an adequacy interpretation if necessary.
- Has a Bachelor's degree in Cytotechnology.
- Has demonstrated knowledge of all aspects of a cytopathology department including the collection, processing and interpretation of cytopathologic samples.
- Screen and interpret all cytopathologic samples excluding intraoperative touch imprint evaluation cases.
- Provide assistance to clinicians/pathologists with the collection of specimens, predominately FNA's.
- Performs the required computer functions relevant to the cytology department such as accessioning and resulting.
- Performs cytologic-histologic correlation of all available cytology samples.
- Florida state license in Cytology required.
- ASCP certification preferred.
- 3 years previous cytology experience preferred.
