What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry-Level Auto Technician position at Mogo Autoservice?
We’re hiring a motivated and passionate Automotive Mechanic (with a minimum of 6 months auto repair experience) in Westlake, Ohio!
The technician will be expected to perform light maintenance, oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, and/or conduct the initial inspection on vehicles to look for repairs that may be needed.
Tasks:
-Complete preventative maintenance on vehicles, such as: oil changes, flushing and replacing fluids, and replacing brakes.
-Work with manager and other mechanics to diagnose and repair the mechanical components of vehicles.
-Listen to customers concerns to learn more about the vehicle history, potential problems, and the services they would like to receive.
-Perform test drives, inspections, and other diagnostic tests on vehicles to identify where problems exist.
-Determine what parts need to be replaced and/or repaired.
- Assist senior technicians with more complex repairs and installations.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Keep accurate records of all services performed.
**Not required, but a plus: operate gas welding equipment to join a variety of metals and alloys; operate acetylene torches for cutting and/or shaping metal parts such as aluminum, cast iron, and steel.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience or training in automotive repair is preferred but not required.
- Basic knowledge of powertrain systems, equipment repair, and diesel engine repair is a plus.
- Ability to work well in a team environment and take direction from senior technicians.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using hand tools and other automotive equipment.
- Ability to weld is a plus.
