What are the responsibilities and job description for the Experienced Auto Technician position at Mogo Autoservice?
We’re hiring a motivated and passionate Automotive Mechanic (with a minimum of 3 years auto repair experience) in Westlake, Ohio!
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of automotive systems, demonstrate proficiency in diagnosing and repairing a wide range of vehicles, and exhibit a commitment to delivering top-notch service. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing our reputation for excellence in automotive repair.
Tasks:
-Complete preventative maintenance on vehicles, such as: oil changes, tire rotations, fluid checks, etc.
-Execute precise repairs on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other automotive components.
-Perform test drives, inspections, and other diagnostic tests using specialized tools and equipment to identify where the problem exists.
-Ensure all repairs and services meet or exceed industry standards.
-Conduct thorough quality control checks to guarantee customer satisfaction and safety.
-Provide expert advice on preventive maintenance to ensure optimal vehicle performance and longevity.
-Maintain accurate and detailed records of repairs, services, and diagnostic findings.
-Provide clear and concise communication to both customers and the service team.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Keep accurate records of all services performed.
-Collaborate with other team members to troubleshoot complex issues and share expertise.
-Assist in training and mentoring junior mechanics when necessary.
**Not required, but a plus: operate gas welding equipment to join a variety of metals and alloys; operate acetylene torches for cutting and/or shaping metal parts such as aluminum, cast iron, and steel.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic with a minimum of 3 years in the field.
- High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a formal automotive training program is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of powertrain systems, equipment repair, and diesel engine repair.
-ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications preferred.
-Additional certifications in specific automotive systems or brands are a plus.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in using hand tools and other automotive equipment.
-Effective verbal and written communication skills.
-Ability to explain complex technical issues to service team in a clear and understandable manner so they can relay information to the customer.
- Ability to weld is a plus.
