Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Assistant Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with young children. This role is essential in supporting the lead teacher in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment that fosters the development of each child. The Assistant Teacher will play a key role in implementing curriculum, managing classroom activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
Duties
- Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum.
- Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and respectful environment conducive to learning.
- Provide care for toddlers, ensuring their physical, emotional, and developmental needs are met.
- Facilitate activities that promote childhood development, including social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth.
- Help create a Montessori-inspired classroom that encourages exploration and independence among students.
- Observe and document student progress, providing feedback to the lead teacher on individual student needs.
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized classroom space that is safe for all children.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns that may arise.
Requirements
- Experience working with preschool-aged children or toddlers is preferred.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with Montessori methods is a plus.
- Strong skills in lesson planning and curriculum development.
- Excellent classroom management abilities to maintain an engaging learning environment.
- A genuine passion for educating young children and fostering their growth.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative when needed.
- Relevant certifications or coursework in early childhood education is advantageous.
