Position Overview
Under the general supervision of a Workforce Program Coordinator, Workforce Manager or higher level administrator, directs, leads, plans, organizes and coordinates assigned functions and supervises professional, paraprofessional, and support personnel engaged in providing assistance to those pursuing and participating in workforce development employment and training programs, and other related services including investigation of eligibility and appropriateness of participants, participant case management, follow-up services, and program performance measures related to the mandatory federal employment and training services provided to the clients of Workforce Development
Summary of Job Duties
Assists managers in developing and implementing workforce programs. Makes recommendations relative to programs, implements changes through innovative continuous improvement methods, and provides follow-up on improvements. Directs, assigns, and monitors daily staffing workload. Prepares and reviews weekly, monthly and quarterly reports. Documents, reviews, monitors, and maintains participants case activity, status, and outcomes. Coordinates workforce services within and outside the department. Provides investigative services concern personnel & programmatic complaints. Makes recommendations for relative provider contracts, reviews contracts, initiates service changes, and monitors program compliance. Directs activities of the functions supervised and supervises professional, para-professional and support personnel. Interprets and implements policies, practices, and procedures as they relate to operations. Conducts unit meetings, ensures continuity of programs, systems, policies, practices, procedures, and techniques. Maintains knowledge of workforce and social service programs and available of services. Performs administrative supervisory tasks.
Responds to telephone and written inquiries; assists workers in peak periods; maintains orderly work flow, reassigns workers as needed. Maintains records; handles complaints and disturbances. Attends meetings, conferences, workshops, training programs and state or local hearings. Assists other units in absence of a supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in business, criminal justice, social work, sociology, political science, psychology, or related discipline AND three (3) years of experience administering public assistance/workforce programs or experience directing the work of others, supervisor training and/or leading projects- OR - Master's Degree in business, criminal justice, social work, sociology, political science, psychology or related discipline AND one (1) year experience administering public assistance/workforce programs or experience directing the work of others, supervisor training and/or leading projects- OR - alternative, equivalent evidence of the minimum class requirements. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. (Other Evidences May Be Substituted)
