Essential Functions
- Strategic HR Partnership & Consultation: Serve as a key HR business partner, offering expert consultation and coaching to management and employees on complex HR matters, including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and HR policy interpretation. Contribute to identifying HR-related issues and recommending strategic solutions aligned with organizational goals and legal requirements.
- Employee Relations & Conflict Resolution: Collaborate on and guide complex employee relations issues end-to-end, including conducting thorough investigations, advising on disciplinary actions, and facilitating effective conflict resolution. Support the development and implementation of strategies to foster a positive, inclusive, and productive work environment, ensuring fair and consistent application of company policies and procedures.
- Comprehensive Benefits Administration (Self-Insured Focus):
- Self-Insured Plan Management Support: Contribute to the comprehensive administration and strategic management of the organization's self-insured health and welfare benefit plans (e.g., medical, dental, vision). This includes serving as a key liaison with third-party administrators (TPAs), brokers, and other vendors to ensure optimal plan performance, cost-effectiveness, and strict compliance with all relevant regulations (e.g., ERISA, ACA, COBRA).
- Monthly Benefit Reconciliations: Perform meticulous monthly benefit reconciliations of claims data, invoices, premium payments, and enrollment records for self-insured plans. Analyze financial discrepancies, identify root causes, and support the implementation of corrective actions to ensure accurate financial reporting and optimize plan funding. Provide regular reports on benefit utilization and cost trends to leadership.
- Benefit Program Development & Coordination: Research, evaluate, and recommend enhancements to existing benefit programs, including supporting the design and implementation of new offerings that align with market trends, employee needs, and organizational objectives. Coordinate annual open enrollment processes, including strategic planning with brokers, comprehensive employee communications, and ensuring accurate data integration with the HRIS.
- Complex Benefit Inquiries & Claims: Provide expert guidance and resolution for complex benefit inquiries from employees and managers regarding plan provisions, eligibility, life status changes, and escalated claims issues.
- Talent Acquisition & Management Strategy: Contribute to the development and implementation of full-cycle recruitment strategies to attract, assess, and onboard top talent. Partner closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, optimize the candidate experience, and leverage the HRIS/ATS system for efficient and effective talent acquisition. Support the comprehensive onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring a seamless and compliant experience.
- HRIS Optimization & Data Analytics: Leverage the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), ensuring data integrity, system optimization, and compliance. Contribute to developing and generating advanced HR reports and analytics to identify trends, provide actionable insights, and support data-driven decision-making for HR and business leaders. Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance.
- Leave Management & Compliance: Support the administration of all complex leave of absence programs (e.g., FMLA, ADA, state-specific leaves, disability claims), ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations. Assist in developing and implementing effective return-to-work strategies.
- HR Policy Development & Compliance: Interpret, contribute to the development, and support the implementation of HR policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance, adherence to best practices, and consistency across the organization. Proactively monitor changes in federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, advising management on necessary adjustments and potential impacts.
- Project Participation & Process Improvement: Actively participate in HR-related projects, such as HRIS implementations, new program rollouts, or process optimization initiatives. Support continuous improvement within the HR function to enhance efficiency, service delivery, and employee experience.
- Compensation & Contract Management Support: Support the accurate compilation and maintenance of compensation structures, marketing agreements, and other HR-related contracts, ensuring compliance and proper record-keeping. Collaborate with the payroll department on complex benefit deductions and reconciliation issues.
- Employee Engagement & Recognition Programs: Contribute to the design, implementation, and coordination of employee engagement and recognition programs (e.g., anniversary, birthday, special events) that foster a positive company culture and enhance employee morale and retention.
- Mentorship & Guidance: Provide mentorship, guidance, and support to HR staff, fostering their professional development and ensuring consistent application of HR practices across the department.
