As a home provider, you share your home with an individual with a disability, maintaining a safe and healthy environment while serving as a mentor and assisting with daily tasks.
In this role, you help cultivate life skills and foster independence, participating in activities of daily living both at home and in the community.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing support for tasks like cooking, cleaning, laundry, budgeting, decision-making, and skill acquisition
- Medication administration, medical appointments, and overall health and well-being support
- Daily documentation via web-based case management application (THERAP)
- Providing fun and leisure experiences through community inclusion, integration, and socialization
- Compliance with state/agency policy and procedures
- Effective communication with team members and supporting physical needs of individuals served
- Providing transportation and possible responsibilities depending on your preference
Possible responsibilities include assistance with bathing, toileting, feeding, behavioral support, seizure, fall, feeding tube, and care for someone with complex physical/medical needs.
Requirements include:
- Residency in the state where services will be provided
- Transportation, valid driver's license, car insurance, and current registration
- Active home/renters insurance and environmentally safe residence
- Ability to pass State/Federal and APS/CPS background checks
Experience is preferred but not required. Reliable computer and internet access are necessary, along with completion of all state-mandated trainings.
