Position Summary:
The After-School Director is responsible for the overall planning, implementation, and supervision of the afterschool program. This role requires a strong commitment to providing safe, engaging, and educational experiences for children. Typical hours are 2:00PM - 5:30PM.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Development and Implementation:
- Develop and implement comprehensive afterschool programs that align with educational standards and community needs.
- Create engaging activities and curriculum that promote learning, social development, and physical well-being.
- Ensure program compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Staff Management:
- Recruit, hire, train, and supervise afterschool staff.
- Provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.
- Evaluate staff performance and address any issues promptly.
- Parent and Community Relations:
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with parents and guardians.
- Communicate effectively about program activities, policies, and procedures.
- Collaborate with community partners to enhance program offerings and resources.
- Budget Management:
- Develop and manage the program budget.
- Ensure responsible use of funds and adherence to financial guidelines.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety regulations.
- Respond to emergencies and incidents in a timely and appropriate manner.
Qualifications:
- High School or GED graduate.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in afterschool or childcare programs.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages and backgrounds.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license.

Working Conditions:
