Geographic Information Systems Analyst

Our client, a leader in the energy and utilities sector, is looking to hire an entry-level GIS Analyst Assistant. This role will be onsite 5x per week in Hammond, IN.

*This is 1-year W2 contract position with benefits!*

As a GIS Analyst Assistant, you will leverage your background in GIS to research databases and check the accuracy of mapped data. Ideal candidates have background in GIS and are looking to learn and grow their skillset within this field!

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Assist Quality Assurance teams with GIS and administrative tasks of the program for the Mapping & Records department, updating databases regularly
• Process work order packets including receiving, assigning, and updating logs
• Organize and maintain files in department, pulling work order packets and sending completed packets to archive
• Assist with the creation of IT incident tickets as needed

Required Skills & Experience

• 1 years of experience researching multiple databases and performing data entry
• Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel & Word

Desired Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree
• Hands-on experience with GIS, ArcGIS, or ArcMap
• Prior experience in the utilities or energy industry strongly preferred!
