Current Opening

Reporting to the Director of Institutional Research, the Assessment Coordinator provides ongoing assessment and accreditation-related support to the College. Also provides overall support to the campus community by tracking and managing progress toward strategic goals, student learning and institutional effectiveness outcomes. The Assessment Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with faculty and staff to design assessment research projects/plans and measurement techniques, coordinating data collection, interpreting and sharing results to drive institutional effectiveness.

The Assessment Coordinator provides timely, relevant, and actionable analysis of learning outcomes data in close collaboration with stakeholders, including analysis of general education curriculum. Gathers assessment results from a variety of sources (i.e. Navigate, Handshake, Jenzabar, and Canvas). Designs assessment instruments and tools for data collection, maintains documentation of processes used for collection and analysis of assessment data, and periodically evaluates processes to ensure validity and reliability.

The Assessment Coordinator prepares accurate reports, presentations, and statistical information that summarize findings from assessment activities. Trains faculty and staff on assessment best practices, maintains the College’s Assessment website, offers support for accreditation activities, and plays an active role in institutional assessment committees. The Assessment Coordinator is responsible to teach up to 3 credits per semester.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field required (i.e. data analytics, higher education administration, educational assessment, social sciences, or a related discipline that includes a strong background in research methods and data analysis). Master’s Degree preferred. Minimum of three (3) years’ experience conducting research in higher education or related area required, preferably in a similar role.

The Assessment Coordinator must maintain the highest degree of confidentiality, professionalism, and customer service in communications and interactions with stakeholders in all areas of the College. Strong understanding of assessment principles, methodologies, and best practices required. Familiarity with accreditation standards and processes preferred. Experience with Windows-based word processing, spreadsheets, databases, graphic presentation, statistical-analysis software required; experience with learning management systems preferred. Ability and willingness to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and methodological approaches. Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team; should be able to motivate diverse stakeholders to improve assessment processes and projects. Excellent written, oral, communication, presentation, and organizational skills required. High attention to detail, commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines, and ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.

This is a full-time, 12-month benefit eligible position. While some flexibility in scheduling and the opportunity for periodic remote days exists, this position is on campus in Cresson, PA and is not eligible for remote work. This role is not budgeted for visa sponsorship at this time; all candidates must be authorized to work in the US at the time of submission of their application.
