The Supply Planner collaborates with Product Managers, Demand Planners, and Buyers to ensure that appropriate amounts of inventory are carried to efficiently satisfy customer demand. Supply Planners are responsible for reviewing procurement recommendations from the Supply Plan and releasing planned orders for execution, as well as identifying and resolving excess inventory, and gaps in supply.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
The Role’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with Demand Planners, Product Managers, and Buyers to ensure that inputs to the Supply Plan are up to date and accurate.
- Release planned orders from the Supply Plan (as transfers, work orders, and purchase requisitions) to create a supply of inventory as required.
- Work closely with Product Managers on the procurement of products with complex long-term order cycles to ensure constant supply.
- Review and resolve Supply Plan exceptions such as Excess Inventory, Demand-at-Risk, and Reschedules/Cancellations, to ensure efficient deployment of inventory capital and adequate supply of material.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to create and provide demand forecasts to critical suppliers.
- Undergraduate degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience, which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
- Undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management.
- Work experience in Oracle Fusion Cloud - Procurement and/o, Supply Chain Planning modules.
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and intermediate-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, pivot tables, and vertical lookup).
- The ability to learn MRC Global-specific software.
- Strong organization and time management skills.
- Establish internal and external business relationships using written correspondence, proper phone etiquette, and other effective interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, good decision-making skills, and willingness to exercise them.
- Maintain availability to work beyond core business hours, including evenings and/or weekends, as necessary to meet fluctuating business demands.
- Work is performed in an office environment.
