Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs all tasks related to production, inspection, testing, and general plant activities.
- Performs miscellaneous tasks such as cutting, filling, gluing, packing, etc.
- Works from both verbal and written instructions, samples, drawings, wiring diagrams, etc.
- Operates a variety of hand tools and miscellaneous bench machines and assembly equipment such as cut-off press, terminal crimping machines, soldering irons, and spot welders, etc. Performs necessary setups on equipment to be used.
- Detects faulty material, records information and reports unusual conditions to supervisor. May install components on customer repair units.
- Performs certain janitorial duties.
- Actively participates in Continuous Improvement activities
Qualifications
Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:
- Proficient in basic math
- Ability to read and understand drawings, work instructions and test procedures
- Strong manual dexterity for use of tools and performing work on small components requiring fine finger manipulation and hand steadiness
- Ability to visually and mentally concentrate for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to infrequently lift, carry, push and pull up to 35 pounds without assistance; sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Proven ability to use power and hand tools.
- Ability to effectively communicate with various levels within the organization
- Ability to work in a team environment and work independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate at a level that meets or exceeds quality and productivity standards for the work area.
- Ability to proficiently solder components.
Education & Experience Preferred:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-year experience in a manufacturing environment.
