Plans and conducts an educational program and develops strong nurturing relationships with children and families and quality partnerships that encourage family engagement in their child's learning. Plans and implements weekly home visits based on caseload. Plans and implements regular socialization groups with families. Provides education, family, and health services. Meets Head Start performance standards, and follows the agency policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs a distance of 10 feet. Ability to push/pull up to 50lbs. a distance of 10 yards. Sufficient mobility and range of motion to perform repetitive standing, walking, balancing, stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, sitting on the floor, reaching, squatting, kneeling, and twisting for up to 8 hours per day. Sufficient stamina to perform job duties at frequency required. Ability to react quickly to the physical actions of children. Sufficient vision and hearing to perform job duties. Sufficient manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to perform job duties.
Exposure to Hazards: Unpredictable child and family behavior, hazardous chemicals, contagious conditions, work with office equipment. Driving and riding in motor vehicles. Working condition sinclude indoor/outdoor environments, preschool center classrooms, playgrounds, offices, frequent local and occasional out-of-town travel.

Initial salary placement will be at the sole discretion of the College, per the guidelines in the applicable Handbook or Collective Bargaining Agreement. Essential Functions
- Plans and conducts an educational program, including curriculum development using assessment information to individualize weekly plan that support learning and development, home visits, and bi-weekly socialization groups.
- Participates in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) process for children with special needs, and incorporate IFSP goals into weekly curriculum plan.
- Conducts and submits developmental screening and assessments for children. Follows up as required.
- Provides parent education on child development and supports the parents' role as the first and lifelong educators of their children. Assists parents with connecting to resources to meet individual family needs.
- Provides case management services while supporting families' safety, health, financial stability, life goals, and aspirations.
- Teaches parents strategies to support the social and emotional development of children through education and direct modeling in the family environment.
- Develops and implements an individual education plan for each child that is specific to his/her interests, strengths, and areas for growth and development. Assesses the ongoing progress of children in partnership with parents.Â
- Takes accurate, objective, and complete observations. Enters child and parent observation data into the data management systems in a timely manner.
- Facilitates networks and group activities that support families' strengths, interests, and needs.
- Conducts individual screenings and ensures health exams are completed; monitors screening and exam results; and ensures completion of follow-up services needed.
- Attends training sessions and participates in training opportunities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education:Â Infant-Toddler Child Development Associate or Infant-Toddler Certification OR Step 7 or higher in the Oregon Registry
Experience/Training
- Minimum (1) year of experience teaching in early childhood education.Â
- Experience working with diverse backgrounds of the College's community, students and employees
- Current driver's license, insurance, and access to a reliable automobile during work hours. Must have at least three (3) years of driving history
- Bilingual skills in English and another language that meets department and community needs
- Must be enrolled in the Oregon Central Background Registry prior to beginning employment and enrollment must be maintained throughout employment
- Post-offer fitness for duty evaluation, must be obtained within 30 days of hire date:Â
- TB screening
- Health appraisal
- Complete required Department of Early Learning and Care (DELC) licensing within 30 days of hire
- Must possess or obtain current Infant/Child First Aid/CPR certification within 60 days of hire
- Must possess or obtain Food Handlers Certificate within 30 days of hire
- Must be able to works occasional evening hours as needed (i.e., parent meetings, home visits, etc.)
